
If one pickle ruled the world it would definitely be this one. Giardiniera is enormously popular in my home town of Chicago where it's commonly used to garnish sandwiches and pizza. In truth, it's good with just about everything. The key ingredients are jalapeño, cauliflower, peppers, garlic and oregano. Giardiniera (at least Chicago-style) seems relatively unknown here in the UK, so it's my overwhelming delight to be bringing 'giard' to the masses. The world needs to know about this addictive pickle! Try it with eggs, alongside hummus and falafel, mixed with pasta, or on barbecued meats.
All of the ingredients in my hot giardiniera get finely chopped by hand, pickled and packed with extra virgin olive oil here in my small batch kitchen in Wiltshire. I've fine tuned this recipe over the years and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
